The Rolling Stones Concert

Steve (my handsome hubby) and I went to the big Rolling Stones concert at Churchill Downs. What a blast it was!!!

The stage was 92 feet tall and some VIP audience members actually got to sit inside the thing.

They put on a really good show and we had great tickets in the center- and felt very lucky to be under cover. And I loved that 50 foot screen!

New Album Design!!!
Dani & I had a blast photographing Tim & Alanna's wedding. They are high school sweethearts and had such a fun group of people in their wedding party. It seemed like everybody was friends and had a good time. Also, both sets of parents were very nice- watch for how I was able to include the parent dance in the album- it was so sweet to see both sets of parents still together and so in love!

So when I designed the album I wanted to include all the fun-- as well as all the red & white that was the theme of the day. Here's what Alanna had to say about her album design:

Liz,
It is so beautiful! I was looking at it and just couldn’t believe what I was seeing. I am so excited to tell everyone that the pictures are about ready and can’t wait to show them off! I will let you know if there will be any changes but I think it is gorgeous as is. Thank
you for everything! You are awesome! :-)

Engagement Photos
I do engagement sessions that are fun and relaxed, designed to get natural shots of the two of you. We go usually go to Cherokee Park to get photos on the swings, wooden bridge, rock wall, etc. The engagement session includes a custom framed and matted 11x14 (or upgrade to a 16x20). I can leave the glass off so that the wedding guests can sign around the photo. The session also includes about 40 4x6 proofs in a leather proof book, and 100 personalized wallets. Read more about engagement sessions here. It's that time of year, so book now!

I can also travel to the location of your choice. For Aleisa and Josh's photo session, we went to her family home in the country. They came over last week to pick out a frame and mats for this 11x14. I love the photo and am quite taken with their dog Maggie. My husband wants to meet her, too. So we may actually get a dog someday! I will keep you posted.

And Aleisa and Josh will be married next month and I'll be sure to show some photos from their Big Day!

Kimberly & Brian are now newlyweds!
Such a great couple- and their parents and families were so nice, too. Yesterday was a big day for Pinkie and I, too. We spent about 10 hours documenting Kimberly & Brian's day-- that's longer than typical but we also had even more fun than usual! I'm happiest with a camera in my hand, can you tell?

Before I talk about the wedding, I do want to thank Pinkie for once again being such a trooper. When we arrived at the reception, she slipped on a tree nut and went down. She was holding a camera and one of the camera bags. Although she went all the way down on the pavement she never let go of the camera. I can't believe she didn't let go. She's my hero.

We started out the day with the Getting Ready shots- Kimberly had such a stunning dress. I really wanted to try it on- it was something else.

They did not see each other before- but they did get to hold hands. It was so sweet.

The wedding was at Our Lady of Lourdes. Father Nick sure has a great speaking voice and I liked what he had to say about marriage and the advice he gave to them.

So the plan afterwards was to spend about an hour getting romantic photos at scenic locations- Locust Grove, a park on a lake, etc. The weather was really pookie so I suggested since they would be staying at the Seelbach,we should go the lobby. Oh-my-goodness! This turned out to be SUCH a good idea! Check out these photos. It sure was a highlight of my day. Pinkie took the first one- I love it!

The reception was at the Olmsted and everything was beautiful, as always. The cake was by Christie, isn't it great? A memorable moment was when Kimberly's father got up and spoke. He said how happy they as parents were that, like themselves and Brian's parents, Kimberly & Brian had found true love.

I will also remember how Brian and his college friends serenaded the mom of one of his buddies who is in Iraq (that's her in the chair)....
There were just so many special moments of the day. It was great to see Kimberly and Brian enjoy themselves so much.

One last favorite picture. Wow, I will sure have a lot to choose from when I design their album. Check back later to see it.

I finished Amy & Jose's album design!
As you know, each album design is completely custom and as unique as the day itself. For this one I really wanted to capture the beautiful surroundings, the joy and excitement, and the bride's little boy. He clearly seems to have bonded with Jose and I made a special page showing them arriving hand-in-hand. Also watch during the ceremony when he goes over and hugs Jose's leg. This was in response to being asked if he will accept Jose as his stepdad. Awwwww! I love moments like that. The wedding and reception took place at the Peterson-Dumesnil House and click here to see the whole album. Also, tell me what you think about this new design.

Engagement Season (once again)!
Remember Allen & Christina? I did their engagement session in the Spring and posted some photos here. They picked out this image as 16x20 and the guests are going to be signing the mat around the frame I made for them. The wedding is next week so be sure to look for pics from the big day!

And now that the weather is getting cooler I'll be busy doing engagement sessions once again. I like to go to the park or somewhere scenic and get some casual romantic photos.

Storybook Album Update
I'm happy that my designs are such a hit. Everyone has pretty much kept their original designs save for swapping out a few images. I'm glad because I really put my heart into each design and try to make each one fit the couple and the day.

Jay & Tiffany made just a few minor tweaks. I included some very special words he said to her: "You are everything that I wanted, and you are everything that I needed. And you are everything that I didn't know that I wanted, and everything that I didn't know that I needed." This is on the panorama of the two of them kissing by the lake. (I love the words, by the way, very sweet!)

John & Kira swapped a few pictures around and made the photo of the guys playing football bigger and as the background panorama. I also touched up the Louisville Water Tower page (gave the old building some much needed paint!). This page also shows all the important reception goodies! (They had the guests sign a football or basketball- how cool!)

Andrew & Angela also swapped some pictures around and added a couple more pics. We changed the super soaker photo to color so you can really get the full effect of the guys' craziness!! And the last page says it all.

Click the links to see the updates on these three albums. I will also post photos when they come in!

Doug & Lori's album should be in next week- can't wait!

A beautiful day for a wedding!
Today I photographed Jodie & Joey's wedding- I did her dad's wedding two years ago. It was so great to see everyone again- and how much the kids had grown! What a gorgeous day Jodie and Joey had!!! The weather was perfect for an outdoor wedding. We got lots of great pictures and I can't wait to show them the rest.

Here's a collage from (Jodie's Dad) Gary & Wendy's wedding back in '04. After their ceremony I photographed their hands to show their wedding rings-- and Gary reached into his pocket and presented Wendy with a second diamond wedding band!!! That was SO romantic and I was able to record the whole thing!

Both weddings were at Wildwood Country Club . I'll post more photos from Jodie & Joey's wedding soon....

New Storybook Album Design!
Here's my latest creation: Angela & Andrew's wedding album. Just like all the others, I've completely custom-designed this from the ground up.

Here's what Angela had to say when she saw the design:

First of all, let me just say that the pictures are absolutely beautiful - we both really love them. It's great the way the album tells the whole story - and you can tell how relaxed everyone was while you were taking the pictures. (After all, my new hubby was shooting his groomsmen with a super soaker!) Andrew and I must have looked at the album 20 times already!

See the famous super soaker image along with the rest of the album here.

Alanna & Tim tied the knot today!
They booked my 'all day' package and what a fun day it was! Dani & I started at Alanna's house where all the girls were getting their hair and makeup done. (Check out the wedding theme of her PJs.)

And her dress!

Right before Alanna walked down the aisle, Tim got a little misty-eyed. His mom went up and gave him a hug-- and I looked around and there was not a dry eye in the church! I will always remember that moment. Throughout the day I was thinking about how much I love my job- there's so much happiness. Both families were so nice and this was really a festive crowd!

There was a major red & white theme going on! The reception was at The Grand-- the dance floor was THE place to be! As usual, Dani and I took hundreds of photos!!! I will be designing their Storybook album soon- check back to see it!
