Caren & Robbie's Guest Book! Here's yet another guest book-- this one has the yummy chocolate brown cover. You can choose from black, navy and red as well. But the best thing is that these contain YOUR engagement photos that the guests will sign around. Each album can be however you want them to be and I've designed some with backgrounds that are black, white, lined, unlined, pink, tan, whatever!

Caren and Robbie wanted me to design their guest book with burnt orange borders. I sampled the color from Robbie's hair and that's why the borders look so good on every page!

The next Storybook Album!
I'm just having SO much fun making these albums! I can't believe I've made like 75 of them and they are all so very different. I especially love designing these 2008 ones because I made them bigger. ALL of my standard packages come with 38, 44, or 54 pages- yay!!!

So Natalie and David's will be completed soon. I will be sure and post it here so you can see!

And click on their collage so you can see just some of the gorgeous photos I have to work with~~~

New Storybook Album!I design each of these albums from the heart and no two are alike. I design with the couple in mind, and for Ashley and Eric I wanted to give them a fairytale album to match their fairytale wedding day. They LOVED the design just the way it is-- yay!

By the way, I don't ever burden the couple with having to pick out prints and figure our their own design. I do the first round of design and then they are free to make any changes, add subtract, swap, etc. This way I get them started. And...amazingly...a huge amount of clients love their album as is!

Happy Anniversary to Heather & Dathan
I'll always remember how they kept looking at each other all day long. It was like they got such a big kick out of seeing the other enjoy the day. What a great bond they have and I hope they've had a fabulous year. And I bet they've been showing their wonderful album to everyone!!! (The wedding was at Locust Grove-- one of my favorite places!)

Louisville wedding photography, Brooke & Brian
At home, Brooke offers a peek at her dress before it gets taken to the ceremony.
And what a ceremony location it is-- the gorgeous Gardencourt! Details Event Planning took care of this poof ball of flowers, and all of the other trimmings.
Beautiful (and tall) Cake by Lyda and with the flowers by Dixie Florist.
Ok, so do I not have the best job in the world? How lucky am I to get to photograph at all these great places? And Brooke & Brian are just the sweetest couple and they sure had the best day. Stay tuned for more photos later on.
The custom Guest Book....
I create custom guest books using your engagement photos. And I've posted a lot of pictures of all the different styles of books. But here is how it looks once everyone's signed it. I just started offering these last year and everyone who's ordered one has been raving about them.

This one is Brooke & Brian's from this past Saturday. They also happen to be gracing the front page this week. Stay tuned for more pictures from their day.

Holly & Dustin's Album is here! These two lovebirds got married in October and are expecting a baby--- how exciting!!! Their story is so romantic it could be made into a movie--! I wish them all the best and know they will enjoy looking back at their picture-perfect wedding day, always. (Wait till you see their amazing wedding at Bernheim Forest!)

So life can get in the way of doing stuff like ordering your wedding album, and that's ok. Just know that you can have your album by your three month anniversary if you wish!

By the way, the Storybook Album is a leather-bound heirloom quality book with lacquer-coated non-bendable pages that open flat. It is the latest-greatest must-have wedding album!

Happy Anniversary to Karen & Spencer!
They married a year ago and seem like such a romantic couple. I loved hearing their story and Karen always says about Spencer, "He treats me like gold!" I think their album captures their joy beautifully. I hope they had a good year and I wish them well.

What I do in my free time...
A couple weeks ago my wonderful assistants, Dani and Pinkie, joined me on a road trip to Shaker Village where we took lots of photos and had a great time!

Here's one of Dani's, love the detail:
I did a mix of sepia and de-saturation to make a warm effect on one of Pinkie's:
And I like abstract, painterly things. This is a reflection in an algae-filled pond, that I turned upside down:

What I'm working on now....
Ashley & Eric's will be the next Storybook Album. I'm designing it right now and am trying some new creative stuff. Be sure to check back soon to see it!
Another new frame!
This is Dana and Blake's from their engagement session and is a 16x24 photograph. I will be happy to add an inscription to any photo, just like they have.... Note how the mats and frame really bring out the colors. I took a six week framing course so that I can help my clients make their choices. And I have a complete frame shop with all different kinds of frames, etc. But I only frame photos that I've taken-- so don't start digging out your posters from under your bed! ;-)

Kentucky wedding photography, Jessica and ChadLovely detailing in Jessica's dress....
What the best man got to wear-- love the color scheme!
Chad looking very relaxed....
A shared moment between Chad and his mom....
Yes, it did rain on their wedding day-- but not on their mood! They had the best attitude and, really, the rain wasn't that bad. It did make for fun pictures-- I love this last one of them laughing just after they kissed in the rain! All the details of their day at Bernheim Forest were really great: the flowers the tuxes, the dress. But the most important thing is that they love each other --and now they're married!!! (Plus they say rain on the wedding day is good luck!!!) Stay tuned for their Storybook Album.
Booked another wedding!
A big welcome to Allison and Shane who are planning a summer 2009 wedding. We have so many cool pictures planned-- I'm very much looking forward to their Big Day! Allison booked me because her mom and one of my brides from 2003 are good friends. Mary, who got married almost five years ago regularly checks my blog and website and sends people to me. I book up fast so be sure to check my availability before locking in your date.

Here's a picture of Mary on her wedding date (excuse the scanned in photo).
I think that is so awesome that my former clients still check the blog. If you are one of them email me or leave a comment below. And thank you so much for sending brides to me!!!

Happy One Year Anniversary to Jennifer & Jeff!Such a great couple-- I am so grateful that I have the nicest, best, and sweetest couples. We really do become friends during this whole process. Most people book me a year or so in advance so we all get to share the planning and the anticipation leading up to the big event.

Jennifer & Jeff had a fabulous outdoor wedding at Hubers and their lovely Storybook Album is so romantic!
New Storybook Album! This is Heather & Luke's album design. What a beautiful couple-- I could take pictures of them all day....and I did!!! They had the perfect day and I keep thinking of the wonderful and touching speech her dad gave at the reception about how beautiful Heather is inside and out, and how proud he is of her. But first he told this story: It seems his main duty on the wedding day was to pick up Heather's dress. And for some reason at the store he thought to ask them to unwrap it so he could see it. He actually knew what the dress looked like... and this was not it!!! It turned out there were two Heathers and they found the correct dress. Whew!! So the moral of the story is to always send someone to pick up the dress who actually knows what it looks like!

And in case you are wondering, yes I do work around the clock creating these albums. I love this time of year though, and will miss it in the winter when things slow down. My main motivation is to run my business the way I would like it if I were a bride. So I do everything in my power to get the photos online, the proofs printed, and the final Storybook Wedding Album in my clients hands ASAP. (And I'm hugely rewarded by being 80% referrals-- yay!!!)
