Heads-up about this week
My best friend's mom passed away and so I will be in Florida to be with my friend the rest of this week. Joanne quit her job to be home and take care of her mom so this will be a big adjustment for her. I'm going to cook for her and just be there for her as much as I can.
I pre-blogged some stuff so if all goes well you should still have something to read almost every day....
Booked another wedding!
Congratulations to Katherine and Brad who are planning a June wedding. I so enjoyed meeting with Katherine last week-- we talked about how crazy the week was after the wind storm! Well, I predict calm weather for their wedding day!!!
I'm booking up fast for 2009-- check my dates booked to see if your day is available.
It's that time of year!
Time to book your engagement session-- the leaves are starting to turn and I have limited availability on weekends. Call or email me to schedule your session. I will be happy to try to help-- even if I'm not shooting your wedding!
Heck, even if you are already married how fun would that be to have some playful and romantic shots of the two of you? I now have a sample Fall Engagement session on my website so be sure to check it out!
What happened last Saturday....
Everyone's been asking me what happened with Megan & Ryan-- the ones who's wedding venues canceled on them due to no electricity from the big windstorm. The reception canceled on Wednesday and the church canceled Thursday! So there went a year and a half of careful planning!!!
Well, everyone pulled through for them. Megan's parents offered to have the wedding in their backyard. The neighbors got together and removed fallen trees from the windstorm and mowed their lawn. The bridesmaids pitched in to call all 325 guests. Plus the pastor, the limo company, florist, cake baker, the band and everyone else had to be notified!
On the day of the ceremony, the power was to be cut off at the house so the utility workers could make some repairs down the street. The neighbors got together and pleaded with them to please turn the power back on and wait till after the wedding-- which they did!
Friends/neighbors also volunteered to park cars for the guests. And it looked to me like all 325 showed! How great is that? And I loved during the ceremony when the pastor mentioned the mailman's creed (neither rain, nor snow, nor sleet, etc.). That is so true-- nothing was going to stop these two from getting married!
So that's them at the top of this post. Such a beautiful setting and so amazing that this was pulled together in just two days!
What a wonderful story Megan and Ryan will be able to tell on each anniversary! Check back later this week for more pics!
Happy One Year Anniversary to Kelly & Stephen!
I love how their album starts out, especially the first page, and I have many fond memories of their happy day. Be sure to check out all the details in their album! And congratulations Kelly & Stephen!!!
Getting married and Windstorm 2008
Imagine that while Louisville is recovering from over 400 broken utility poles and over 6000 downed power lines that you are getting married the Saturday after the storm. And imagine a couple days before your wedding both the church and the reception sites CANCEL due to lack of electricity. Well, I just can't imagine but that is exactly what happened to Megan and Ryan who are getting married today.
I do know that everything is going to turn out wonderfully for them. Check back next week for the details and pictures!
And what a crazy week-- I hope if you don't have your electricity back yet that it comes on soon!
Put some love on your walls!
I always think it's wonderful when couples choose to put a few romantic photos of themselves on display in their home. And some kissy-shots in the bedroom can help put out some good vibes, too! This is the latest picture I've custom-framed and is for Hannah & Michael. They are getting married next week!!!
Booked another wedding!
I'm booking weddings left and right-- and I love it. Looks like 2009 is going to be a great year. Kari and Matt are my newest clients and are planning a June wedding. I met with Kari and her mom and both are as sweet as can be.
Check my dates to see if your date is still available!
Booked another wedding!
A big welcome to my newest clients, Rachel & Anthony. I will be traveling for their wedding in Illinois next summer. That's right, I will travel for your wedding and have very reasonable rates. But first, check my availability as I book up fast!
Happy One Year Anniversary to Bethany & Doug!
I remember how beautiful the weather was for their wedding day. We had (finally!) gotten through the horrid heat wave of 2007 and now it was a perfect 71 degrees. Bethany and Doug and all their guests had so much fun doing UL & UK chants at the reception- what a fun day they had!
Bethany has a great personality-- check out how she laughs-- actually LAUGHS-- when her cake collapses!
The next Storybook Album...
...will be Jessica & Chad's. It rained on their wedding day-- and they laughed!!! What a fun day it was. I look forward to creating a one-of-kind Storybook Album for them.
Custom Framing
I do custom framing and can help you choose the right mat and frame to really show off your photos! These are both 16x20s that I framed recently. The top one is Kim & John's and has the deluxe non-glare glass. The other one is Megan & Ryan's and I left the glass off so the guests can sign around the mat. I love framing (but only if it is of my photography!) and I will be sure to post the next ones I do.
Happy Anniversary to Amanda & Shawn
Ok, so how did a year go by so fast? Amanda & Shawn had a wonderful wedding day last year. And I will always remember how EVERYBODY got up and danced at their reception. It was so fun and festive. Check out the details in their Storybook Album!
