Another new arrival!
Angela and Andrew have been anxiously awaiting their Storybook Album. They got married in August and are so excited to have their album so soon!!! This is the one I blogged about in September when I was designing it-- it has the Super Soaker page.

You can see the rest of the album here. I love their very last page- it has so much action it's like a movie scene!

Another Storybook Album Design is in the works
I'm designing Mat & Bridget's wedding album right now. Shortly before the ceremony, Dani & I told Mat how beautiful Bridget looked. He asked if we took a photo he requested, one with her veil over her head. We said that we did and the light coming in from the stained glass made her look like an angel. He then said, "She's MY angel." Awwwww. They look so sweet together and I love the romantic photos of their first dance....

Here's the collage, click on it to enlarge. I will be posting their album design soon.

And here's an email Bridget wrote when they returned from their honeymoon:

Liz,

Mat and I would like to thank you for working so hard and making our wedding night carefree. Your personality and professionalism created a fun environment for us all. We already love the pics you have posted, especially the outside one! And cannot wait to see more!! So many people have commented on the fact they thought the photographer was wonderful! Thanks again...talk to you soon!

Today's engagement session
What can I say? Everything was perfect! The Fall trees were colorful, the sky was blue and it was 68 degrees. But the best part was that Melissa and Josh made it so easy. They laughed, cuddled, and smooched while I took 'postcards' of them with all the gorgeous trees. We took some photos on a wooden bridge, on the swings and all around Cherokee Park. They have such great chemistry- can you tell?

They will use some of the pictures in their slideshow at their reception. They also get a custom-framed and matted 11x14 that people can sign around if they want.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed that the weather holds so I can do some more engagement sessions next weekend. I am available Saturday & Sunday next weekend. Book your engagement session now so you won't have to wait until next year!

Christina & Allen's over-the-top album
Here's my latest Storybook Album design! I went all-out and put extras in their book. I included photos from their engagement shoot- how cool! Also on the second spread I wrote sweet nothings. I designed this album as a surprise to them and they can make changes as they wish. So Christina and Allen can always customize it to put in their very own sweet nothings...! (I've had people include words from their vows, invitation or program as well as their own special phrases.)

Tea rose was THE color of the day. It was in Christina's dress and was the color of the bridesmaids dresses. I made chapters and used the exact color from one of the dresses to be sure it was right. I also used the tea rose on some of the photo borders.

Whew! I put a lot in it but there was a lot going on. Christina and Allen booked me well over a year ago and they have such great chemistry. The laugh all the time and just light up when the other is near. The beautiful wedding was at My Old Kentucky Home, and you can see how I was able to use a lot of the settings in the album. The flowers were by Nanz & Kraft.

Kira & John's Storybook album arrived!
They've been married less than 3 months and soon will have their album to show everyone. Here is a nice email I received from Kira today:

Thanks again, Liz, for the wonderful job you did. You made our wedding day better than we expected by creating such beautiful memories for us to cherish! We have heard nothing but compliments on your work and we couldn't agree more. Not only were you and Pinkie fun to work with but you made the experience stress free (and that's rare when planning a wedding). We will always be grateful for your work!
Kira and John

Alanna & Tim's red & white wedding
Remember the red & white theme in Alanna & Tim's wedding last month? I carried that theme all throughout their album design and Alanna decided to go bold with the RED cover and white page edges. I think it will tie everything in perfectly. Like many of my clients- she kept my design exactly as I made it- what a compliment! I can't wait to see the album and (of course) will post pictures here as soon as it is in. See all the red & white in their album design here.
This blog is addictive

Also at the reception...
I saw Mylantha and Micah at the reception last night. I photographed their wedding over two years ago at Garden Court (my- how time flies!). Here are some pics from their day:

The high school sweethearts are now newlyweds!
Every since I did their engagement session, I've been looking forward to Josh & Aleisa's wedding day- and it turned out to be a great day!!!

Pinkie shot these getting-ready photos. That's Maid-of-Honor, Holly helping.

Look at how pretty the light is coming in from the stained glass. You can probably see some of the color on her veil and on the wall behind her. Aleisa's elegant updo was perfect and her gorgeous silk flowers were as light as a feather!

As you can see, Aleisa and her bridesmaids were pretty relaxed before the ceremony. Note the pretty fall colors of the dresses and bouquets.

When the guest arrived, they received these tissues with a cute poem.

There she is coming down the aisle. There were three adorable flowergirls who did a great job scattering the petals. The ceremony was sweet and tender and full of emotion. Aleisa's stepdad married her and he got choked up during the ceremony. I think all the bridemaids and at least one of the groomsmen got teary-eyed.

The weather was beautiful and I'm glad we had time for a few outdoors shots.

What a great idea for a reception keepsake: candles. These came in a little tin with a lid so they could be reused for something else later.

The reception was at the Spalding University Ballroom and Pinkie and I got some romantic shots of the new Mr & Mrs on the dance floor.

Wow! I sure have a lot of weddings to work on!!! Watch this space- I will be posting a lot more stuff soon!

Get your Storybook Wedding Album fast!

I really like that my clients get their albums so quickly. I hear horror stories of couples waiting months just to see their proofs! Shannon & Gathan received their (full-size 4x6) proofs after being married a month- and their album was ready 3 months after the wedding! Here's a nice email I received from Shannon the other day:

We really do appreciate all of the things that you have done for us throughout this exciting time period of our lives. You truly captured our special moments perfectly. I have gotten so many rants and raves about my album I think that all of my family wishes that they could get married again so that they could use you as their photographer!!! We really couldn't have asked for a better photographer or person to help us look back on this time and the beauty of it. Thanks again! If there is anything thing that you need us for please let me know.

Shannon

The First Look!
I met with Megan and her mom today to talk about her wedding next Spring. She and her future hubby are going to see each other before the wedding. In that case, I do what I call a 'First Look'. Megan will walk down the aisle and Scott will have his back to her (the room will be empty). She will tap him on the shoulder and I will record the first time he sees her in her wedding dress. Then they will have a few minutes of alone time.

The last time I had a bride named Megan, we did the exact same thing! Here's their First Look this past May.(click on photo to enlarge) And here is the rest of their album.

My goal to wow everyone!
This is such a major word-of-mouth business that I'd rather wow my clients than have to pay for advertising. In fact, I don't even do bridal shows. I believe referrals are the best way to grow my business. So I want to thank everyone for helping get the word out. I've been getting a lot of nice emails lately- here's another. This is from the mom of the groom from the wedding last Saturday. Both moms were practically bursting with happiness-- it was so heartwarming.

dear liz,
i have such a hard time describing to people how i was feeling during jason's wedding. my emotions were so "over the top". it was such a happy blessed ceremony and when i saw the awesome picture you took of jason and jess in the garden - i thought, "that captured just what i was feeling about them". it's sort of hard to explain, but i'm sure you understand. you were such a blessing to our family and already the pictures we have seen on your blog are awesome. i love the personal notes you include with so many of them. we thank you so very much for all your hard work and look forward to seeing the rest of the pictures.
cindy

(Can you tell that I love my job?)

The next Storybook Album...
...will be Christina & Allen's! They were married less than three weeks ago at My Old Kentucky Home. I do want to mention how great it is to have two photographers at a wedding. There are so many situations where we need to be in two places at once. For instance, Dani was able to photograph Christina getting out of the carriage while I photographed the bridesmaids coming up the aisle.

There are hundreds of photos from their day for me to go through. I will be making a very special design for them- be sure to check back later. Until then, here's a sneak peak of their wedding day.

New Album Design!
Each album is a very special work of the heart as I create it to capture the look and emotion of the day. Pinkie & I were with Kimberly and Brian the full day and there were so many moments to capture. They were such a fun couple and I LOVE their romantic photos at the Seelbach. Towards the end of the album Brian and his friends are serenading the mother of one of their buddies who is in Iraq. What a sweet thing to do!

The wedding was at Our Lady of Lourdes and the reception was at The Olmsted.

Here's what Kimberly had to say:

Hi Liz,

I got your message earlier today and wanted to let you know I did get the email and the link to the wedding album...we checked it out and we LOVE it...we can't wait to see the rest of the proofs.

Thanks,

Kimberly

Jessica & Jason are married!
Early in the day, Jessica's mom came up and told me how much she loves Jason and how this is a match made in heaven. Later, Jason's mom said the same thing about Jessica! How nice that both families are so loving and supportive.

And how wonderful that J&J got married today in the very church they met, Holy Spirit. One of the three priests marrying them was the groom's uncle, who also married his parents...!

And everyone was so festive- the girls were having a good time! That's Jessica's sister, Amanda, next to her. During the ceremony she went up to the balcony to sing 'How Beautiful' and when she returned to the front of the church she gave a little bow to Jessica, who returned the gesture. It was cute!

The oh-so-pretty flowers are by The Greenery.

And the guys were more than willing to do some fun and crazy shots. I'll show more later!

Jessica is 4'11" and Jason is 6'9" and it's a good thing that they are both so good natured about their height difference. The priest even told a short-tall joke! For the kiss, a decorated step ladder was brought out for Jessica to stand on-- !!! I'm glad they can laugh about their height-- it sure set the tone for the day. All the guests had such a great time-- I saw laughter and smiles all around.

I have to show this one because Jason is down on one knee and Jessica is standing up. They look so happy together- and I love the light coming in from the window. We took some great shots with the stained glass, outside by the church and on the golf course- I'll post more soon.

How adorable they are together.

The reception was at the Hurstbourne Country Club and here are two bonus shots from the Cha-Cha Slide song. From the part in the song that asks 'How low can you go?'

Oops! That must have been too low for Jason. I think he was just goofing around, but it was funny! Check out his (slightly) shorter brother on the right!

What fun! What FUN!!! I will post more photos from this day soon~~~

Jay & Tiffany's album is here!!!
I just love it! These Storybook albums are so great. Jay & Tiffany personalized their album with a sweet phrase that he said to her during their pre-marriage counseling. I have designed albums using words from the wedding invitation, the program, and the ceremony itself. I also designed one with everything the couple said to each other in their excitement just moments after the ceremony.

These are more than albums- they are memory books! Not only that, these latest-greatest heirloom-quality leather Storybook albums have non-bendable pages that have been lacquer-protected.

See all of Jay & Tiffany's album here.
