The high school sweethearts are now newlyweds!
Every since I did their engagement session, I've been looking forward to Josh & Aleisa's wedding day- and it turned out to be a great day!!!

Pinkie shot these getting-ready photos. That's Maid-of-Honor, Holly helping.

Look at how pretty the light is coming in from the stained glass. You can probably see some of the color on her veil and on the wall behind her. Aleisa's elegant updo was perfect and her gorgeous silk flowers were as light as a feather!

As you can see, Aleisa and her bridesmaids were pretty relaxed before the ceremony. Note the pretty fall colors of the dresses and bouquets.

When the guest arrived, they received these tissues with a cute poem.

There she is coming down the aisle. There were three adorable flowergirls who did a great job scattering the petals. The ceremony was sweet and tender and full of emotion. Aleisa's stepdad married her and he got choked up during the ceremony. I think all the bridemaids and at least one of the groomsmen got teary-eyed.

The weather was beautiful and I'm glad we had time for a few outdoors shots.

What a great idea for a reception keepsake: candles. These came in a little tin with a lid so they could be reused for something else later.

The reception was at the Spalding University Ballroom and Pinkie and I got some romantic shots of the new Mr & Mrs on the dance floor.

Wow! I sure have a lot of weddings to work on!!! Watch this space- I will be posting a lot more stuff soon!

Get your Storybook Wedding Album fast!

I really like that my clients get their albums so quickly. I hear horror stories of couples waiting months just to see their proofs! Shannon & Gathan received their (full-size 4x6) proofs after being married a month- and their album was ready 3 months after the wedding! Here's a nice email I received from Shannon the other day:

We really do appreciate all of the things that you have done for us throughout this exciting time period of our lives. You truly captured our special moments perfectly. I have gotten so many rants and raves about my album I think that all of my family wishes that they could get married again so that they could use you as their photographer!!! We really couldn't have asked for a better photographer or person to help us look back on this time and the beauty of it. Thanks again! If there is anything thing that you need us for please let me know.

Shannon

The First Look!
I met with Megan and her mom today to talk about her wedding next Spring. She and her future hubby are going to see each other before the wedding. In that case, I do what I call a 'First Look'. Megan will walk down the aisle and Scott will have his back to her (the room will be empty). She will tap him on the shoulder and I will record the first time he sees her in her wedding dress. Then they will have a few minutes of alone time.

The last time I had a bride named Megan, we did the exact same thing! Here's their First Look this past May.(click on photo to enlarge) And here is the rest of their album.

My goal to wow everyone!
This is such a major word-of-mouth business that I'd rather wow my clients than have to pay for advertising. In fact, I don't even do bridal shows. I believe referrals are the best way to grow my business. So I want to thank everyone for helping get the word out. I've been getting a lot of nice emails lately- here's another. This is from the mom of the groom from the wedding last Saturday. Both moms were practically bursting with happiness-- it was so heartwarming.

dear liz,
i have such a hard time describing to people how i was feeling during jason's wedding. my emotions were so "over the top". it was such a happy blessed ceremony and when i saw the awesome picture you took of jason and jess in the garden - i thought, "that captured just what i was feeling about them". it's sort of hard to explain, but i'm sure you understand. you were such a blessing to our family and already the pictures we have seen on your blog are awesome. i love the personal notes you include with so many of them. we thank you so very much for all your hard work and look forward to seeing the rest of the pictures.

(Can you tell that I love my job?)

The next Storybook Album...
...will be Christina & Allen's! They were married less than three weeks ago at My Old Kentucky Home. I do want to mention how great it is to have two photographers at a wedding. There are so many situations where we need to be in two places at once. For instance, Dani was able to photograph Christina getting out of the carriage while I photographed the bridesmaids coming up the aisle.

There are hundreds of photos from their day for me to go through. I will be making a very special design for them- be sure to check back later. Until then, here's a sneak peak of their wedding day.

New Album Design!
Each album is a very special work of the heart as I create it to capture the look and emotion of the day. Pinkie & I were with Kimberly and Brian the full day and there were so many moments to capture. They were such a fun couple and I LOVE their romantic photos at the Seelbach. Towards the end of the album Brian and his friends are serenading the mother of one of their buddies who is in Iraq. What a sweet thing to do!

The wedding was at Our Lady of Lourdes and the reception was at The Olmsted.

Here's what Kimberly had to say:

Hi Liz,

I got your message earlier today and wanted to let you know I did get the email and the link to the wedding album...we checked it out and we LOVE it...we can't wait to see the rest of the proofs.

Thanks,

Kimberly

Jessica & Jason are married!
Early in the day, Jessica's mom came up and told me how much she loves Jason and how this is a match made in heaven. Later, Jason's mom said the same thing about Jessica! How nice that both families are so loving and supportive.

And how wonderful that J&J got married today in the very church they met, Holy Spirit. One of the three priests marrying them was the groom's uncle, who also married his parents...!

And everyone was so festive- the girls were having a good time! That's Jessica's sister, Amanda, next to her. During the ceremony she went up to the balcony to sing 'How Beautiful' and when she returned to the front of the church she gave a little bow to Jessica, who returned the gesture. It was cute!

The oh-so-pretty flowers are by The Greenery.

And the guys were more than willing to do some fun and crazy shots. I'll show more later!

Jessica is 4'11" and Jason is 6'9" and it's a good thing that they are both so good natured about their height difference. The priest even told a short-tall joke! For the kiss, a decorated step ladder was brought out for Jessica to stand on-- !!! I'm glad they can laugh about their height-- it sure set the tone for the day. All the guests had such a great time-- I saw laughter and smiles all around.

I have to show this one because Jason is down on one knee and Jessica is standing up. They look so happy together- and I love the light coming in from the window. We took some great shots with the stained glass, outside by the church and on the golf course- I'll post more soon.

How adorable they are together.

The reception was at the Hurstbourne Country Club and here are two bonus shots from the Cha-Cha Slide song. From the part in the song that asks 'How low can you go?'

Oops! That must have been too low for Jason. I think he was just goofing around, but it was funny! Check out his (slightly) shorter brother on the right!

What fun! What FUN!!! I will post more photos from this day soon~~~

Jay & Tiffany's album is here!!!
I just love it! These Storybook albums are so great. Jay & Tiffany personalized their album with a sweet phrase that he said to her during their pre-marriage counseling. I have designed albums using words from the wedding invitation, the program, and the ceremony itself. I also designed one with everything the couple said to each other in their excitement just moments after the ceremony.

These are more than albums- they are memory books! Not only that, these latest-greatest heirloom-quality leather Storybook albums have non-bendable pages that have been lacquer-protected.

See all of Jay & Tiffany's album here.

More pics from Kimberly & Brian's big day!

So I am working on their album design now and have TONS of photos to choose from. Can't wait for them to see the design and all their pictures~~

Check out his boutonniere-- he didn't want a flower so he got berries-- how creative! His berries and the flowers were provided by Simply Flowers.

(Click on collage to enlarge.)
I've got a new look!

What do you think??? I drove home with all the windows down and the sunroof open- it was great! Can't wait to go shopping for hats-- and earrings!!!

More Raves about the new Storybook Wedding Album!
As you know, each one is custom-designed and is as unique as the day itself!

Here's what Jodie had to say about her album design that I posted last week.

I got your message and I'm sorry I haven't had a chance to call you back. I just looked at our album and I LOOOOOVE IT! I want to keep it exactly the way you have it and I can't wait to see all the proofs and start ordering. Thank you so much. Let me know when everything else is ready and I know the family is very excited to start ordering. I will talk to you soon.

Thanks,
Jodie!

Another wedding- and another happy couple off to Maui!!!
I can't believe that this makes three weddings in a row where the couples are honeymooning in Maui!!! I have never been to Hawaii and can't wait for a couple to invite me along! Steve could be their bodyguard and also carry the luggage and I could take beautiful photos of the newlyweds in lush tropical settings....! I will keep my fingers crossed that someday a couple will want me to take fabulous and romantic photos of them on an exotic island!!!

So today was Chris & Kari's big day and what a beautiful day it was. The colors were red and white and there were lots of cute kids to photograph! These sweeties called this position 'the cupcake'.

Dani took this great shot of the bride admiring the butterflies before the ceremony.

Here's the butterfly release- directly after the wedding.

Don't they look happy together?

Check out these too-cool napkins!

Their dance was so romantic-- they sure like to kiss!!!

Well, I'm going to be busy-busy-busy with all these wedding photos. I can't wait to go through them all. Check back later as I will post more pics from Chris & Kari's big day!

Mat & Bridget are now Mr & Mrs!

Check out this big wedding party! What a festive bunch-- I love all the energy the happens with large groups. My record wedding party is 36 people- but at 25 this is still plenty big!!!

These four cuties were part of it, too.

I love bride-and-flowergirl shots.

Isn't this precious? What a sweet behind-the-scene moment....

They had these fun cakes in addition to their main wedding cake!!! The reception was at the Ali Center- everything was beautiful and I got some great dance shots, too.

There are so many pictures- I will post more from Bridget & Mat's day soon!

My newest Album Design...!
Here is Jodie & Joey's Storybook Album design. I really wanted to show off their pretty outdoor wedding at Wildwood Country Club and the fun at the reception. They were both so relaxed before the wedding. Neither one looked nervous at all. See for yourself by viewing their wedding album design.

More pics from Jodie & Joey's wedding day!
As promised, here are some photos from their wedding two weeks ago. I am designing their album right now. They had a beautiful outdoor wedding and I am working around the clock to get their album finished this week. Be sure and check back to see it.

(Click on the collage to enlarge.)
A nice thank you...
Christina took time to email me before leaving for her honeymoon. Wasn't that nice?

Hey Liz,
I'm heading to Hawaii in the morning ( sorry you can't come), but I wanted to thank you and Dani before we left. You guys were great all day and I love the pictures you already put online. Can't wait to see them when they're all done, but patience is a virtue. Thanks again for everything, and I'll call you when we get back.
Christina

The sunshine was in their hearts....
After having so much fun at Allen & Christina's engagement shoot, I was so looking forward to their Big Day. Their wedding was yesterday at My Old Kentucky home, which is a fabulous outdoor location. ....It rained most of the day...but you know what? It didn't matter. Allen and Christina are great people individually but when they get together they really shine! They laugh all the time and have such wonderful chemistry. It was so nice to see them so happy just to be standing next to each other....! Their joy was contagious and everywhere I looked I saw smiles and laughter.

We started out the day at a cute cottage where Christina, her mom, and the bridesmaids got ready. Her dress had a touch of color in the embroidery- tea rose- that matches the girls' dresses.

Christina and the girls arrived in style.

The ceremony included smiles, laughter and tears....

They were like this all day-- I love it!

Right before the first dance he surprised her with a rose.

Later, Christina surprised her mom with a special Mother-Daughter dance. Kenny Sauter of Masters of Music provided the music that kept everyone dancing all night.

And now, the happy couple are on their way to Hawaii!!!
