Megan & Ryan have their album!
As you can see, they chose the oh-so-touchable suede cover in the yummy kiwi color. It looks so great and makes every page stand out. Megan's mom picked it up and I know the happy couple will be thrilled to have their album. I expect them to show it off to everyone ;-)

Due to the wind storm, Megan and Ryan's church and reception sites both canceled just 3 days before the wedding!!! However, all the friends and neighbors pulled together and the ceremony was held at her parent's house. It turned out lovely-- be sure to see for youself.

And here is Megan's happy email:

Liz- Ryan and I couldn't be happier with our wedding album. Thanks so much for your color and material expertise with the cover. It looks absolutely amazing and your creativity and sense of style really helped guide me in choosing it! We will treasure this album for many years to come and can't thank-you enough for all of your hard work!

Praise for the newest Storybook Album
Here's what Kimberly had to say about her album:

Liz,

My mom is in town and we just sat and looked at the pictures you put into our book, and we loved it just how it is. I don't feel the need to make any changes so please go ahead and place the order as is :) We are trying to get the parents together to go through the proofs as well so they can pick out the 24 pictures they would like and hopefully will get back to you in the next couple of weeks. It has been crazy here! Thank you again for all of your work!! It looks great!

Kimberly and John

I love that I can provide such a great service as this. You see, I design these albums "blind" with no input from the bride and groom. I just let my heart guide me-- and I keep my eyes and ears open on the Big Day! Of course they are free to edit/add/subtract/swap as they see fit-- but so many people, like Kimberly and John, love it just as I envisioned it!

Becky and Steve
Ok, the story is that they got married TEN years ago at the courthouse but now they wanted to do it right: full ceremony, bash of a reception-- the works! And now that they have three kids they wanted to make them a part of the day, too! They are such a sweet and amazing couple-- and SO in love!!!

Becky helping their daughter get ready.Steve helping their sons get ready.A lesson in folding the handkerchief...
Garter malfunction!
Gorgeous flowers by Lloyds-- of course!
Becky surprised Steve with a new wedding band during the ceremony. There he is admiring it moments after she slipped it on his finger. (Actually, it was a tight fit so it took some tugging to get it on!)So happy and in love after all these years...awwww!Don't you just know they are going to last forever? I think this is the sweetest most wonderful thing a couple can do for each other-- and for their kids!!!

I think every couple should do a big renewal ceremony!!!

Happy couples!
In this business, it's nowhere near "all-business"! Instead, it is about caring, giving personal attention and taking the time to get to know each and every client. That's just one of the reasons why I am 80% referrals. Here's an email I received:

Liz,
I can't even describe to you what I am feeling right now....after all these years I thought it couldn't get any better, but I was seriously mistaken. I had the best Valentine's Day of my entire life and I owe a huge thanks to you and Pinkie to help make that happen!!! After all the weddings my husband and I have been in for our Friends and Family it was an amazing experience to be on the other side!! I cannot wait to see the pictures...FYI....I am a huge fan of B&W photos :)!!
We will definitely recommend you to everyone that is need of a photographer, thank you so much a million times over!!!

Becky

How sweet is that? I can't wait to tell you all about Becky & Steve's day. Stay tuned....!

Valentine's Day Surprise
Brad surprised Holly this past Saturday by ordering this framed 16x24 for her! How sweet is that? Even though Valentine's Day is past, it's not too late to order a big print for your sweetie for his or her birthday, your anniversary, or just because.

Booked another wedding!
I booked my first 2010 wedding this week--yay! Tara & Ben kicked things off and they are sure to be the first-of-many 2010 Liz Images couples. They are smart to book things early so they can get their pick of vendors.

So a big welcome to Tara & Ben. You will see pics of their engagement session later in the year.

And be sure to check my availability as I can only do one wedding a day...!

Calling April 4th brides!
Normally you have to book me waaaaaaay in advance but I just had a new date open up. The couple is postponing their wedding. Hey, it happens sometimes. Marriage should never be entered into lightly and sometimes you need to take a step back. Anyway, if you or someone you know is getting married in April, call me!
New Engagement Session for you to view!
Since I always want to keep things fresh, I've added a new Engagement Session in the Park for you to view. You can see all my sample engagement sessions on my View Events page.

And in just a couple months I'll be back to shooting engagement sessions. Be sure to schedule your session soon.

Kelly & Lonnie's big print
Yup, they ordered the biggest print out there-- a 30x40. How awesome is that? This is what they ordered and it's going to look absolutely amazing framed and matted. Can't wait to show ya! Kelly & Lonnie know the importance of putting good vibes on the wall! Before they ordered, they sat down with me at my computer and we looked at several options, zooming in close to look for anything that may need to be retouched (I don't charge for retouching-- it's part of my top-notch service!).

Let me know if you'd like to see what your favorites look like zoomed in on my computer...!

That was some 100+ albums ago and they were so thrilled that I just keep getting more and more clients--yay!

New Storybook Album!
Happy Monday, and another album to show you! Each of these albums is custom-designed from the ground up. I don't use templates or anything like that-- and I think that makes all the difference. Each album is as unique as the day! This is Leighora and Brad's wonderful day at 300 Spring.

You're Invited...

2009 Bridal Fair

With 80% referrals, I'm very lucky that I don't do the big bridal shows-- never have. I DO however do this show every year. It's a great show where you can actually talk to the vendors. And eat! Lots of cake and yummies, I promise! See you there~~~

Quick Reflexes
Good photography is all about being ready to capture that special moment the second it happens. This is Leighora and Brad celebrating their wedding day. You can be sure this photo will be in their album.

I'm working on it right now and will post it next week!

A new frame
Here is Katherine & Brad's framed 11x14 from their engagement session. They chose two colors of blue for the mats and the shiny black frame pulls it all together. I have a complete custom framing shop so you can find just the right look for your photo.

St. Gabriel Weddings

I recently met with a happy couple who are planning a St. Gabriel wedding. I just remembered I actually have a Storybook Album from there. This is Brad & Whitney's wedding from 3 years ago. I hadn't yet learned to shoot for the Storybook Album format then with all the backgrounds-- and even so I think their album looks awesome. So here is the SECOND Storybook Album I've ever made! (Compare that to yesterday's post, which is close to #100.)

I remember that Whitney was SO excited about her new last name. Right before the ceremony Brad sent over gifts that included a keychain with her new last initial. And that explains the last page-- Whitney was thrilled with what I did there!

New Storybook Album!
One of my favorite things to do is design the Storybook Albums! Each one is as unique as the wedding day and is full of real moments that truly tell the story. Caren & Robbie's was so much fun to design-- be sure to check out the little film strip effect on their romantic page...!

One for the memory books
Here are some pics from Kentucky's worst ever winter storm!

It sure was pretty seeing everything else encased in ice...but then came the tree damage. What a mess! Everywhere I turned there were large downed tree limbs and many of my neighbors were without power. I was walking my dog down the street (sidewalks were too covered with snow) when suddenly he veered a hard left in the snow and tried to pull me off the street. And that's when I saw it-- a downed power line right in front of me. It blended in so well with the street it was almost invisible. Luckily it wasn't live, but I still say Mango is a smart dog!

It's times like this that I am grateful for electricity, snow plows, gas fireplaces, and hot chocolate. My only regret is that I didn't get to go sledding! I hope if you are reading this that you are back in your own home enjoying your electricity.
